Credit Card
Credit Card is by far the most accepted payment method available on the internet. Although a Credit Card is
not always a card with a credit function, for convenience we will call all cards with a Visa or
MasterCard logo a Credit Card.
In order to be able to accept Credit Card payments, you should have an agreement with a bank owning a Visa
and MasterCard acquiring license. This bank is also called an 'acquirer'. We are working together with various
European banks owning such a license. This enables us to offer your products or services to multiple banks.
So you can be sure that we are able to find an appropriate solution.
Although we do not want to go to deep into details, there are certain risks involved in accepting Credit Card
payments. Visa, MasterCard and other Credit Card companies are constantly fighting against fraud on the
internet. As a result there have been several additions like the CVC code and the '3D Secure' protocol. If
you have never accepted Credit Card payments before, we can inform you more about the risks of acceptance.
Credit Card is only available in our 'Plus' package. More information can be found on our
rates page.

Credit Card - General Questions
Why should I accept Credit Card?
Because Credit Card is one of the most used payment methods on the internet. It enables you to
reach billions of cardholders worldwide.
Credit Card is supporting which countries?
Cards with a Visa or MasterCard logo, suitable for online payments, are issued in almost all
countries in the world.
Credit Card - Acceptance
At which bank should I apply?
You don't have to make this choice on your own. Depending on your products and services we will
analyse which bank is fitting you best. We are working together with several banks in Europe.
These banks all have their own terms, often also depending on the type of product. We will
therefore select one or more banks.
Why do you only 'speak' about Visa and MasterCard? There are more cards, aren't there?
That's right. However, by default acceptance is starting with Visa and MasterCard. The other
card brands are optional. We can also process other cards for you, although this is always by
request.
If you wish to accept other cards such as American Express, Discover/Diners or JCB, then please
contact our sales department.
What is a deposit or rolling reserve?
Because processing Credit Card transactions is entailing certain risks, banks often want additional
security. This can be in the form of a deposit or a rolling reserve.
A deposit is a fixed amount that is paid in advance or withheld on the first payout. This amount
is predetermined and stated in your agreement.
However, many banks are using a 'rolling reserve'. This is a percentage of Credit Card sales that
is not immediately paid out. It may be that such a bank pays out ten percent of the sales after
six months. Also this is clearly stated in your agreement.
What is 3D Secure?
The 3D Secure protocol is a standard which is used for adding an additional verification step to the
online payment process. Initially developed by Visa, but later also implemented by e.g. Mastercard,
Maestro and MisterCash.
More information can be found on Wikipedia.
Credit Card - Transacties
Is it possible that a customer reverses the transaction?
Yes. Fraud is a common problem with Credit Card payments. New fraud prevention methods are
introduced by the banks and card schemes, for example 3D Secure. By using these new methods it's
getting more difficult to commit fraud. However, with Credit Card payment you should always be
alert.
Our employees can determine the risk of your product in a dialogue with you. Based on the
results of this dialogue, we can share our point of view and inform you about the risks.
